Recently, the government announced that starting from August, the pay for all the government servants will be paid twice a month. It will be paid in the middle and the end of each month. However, the announcement regarding that received mix reactions from the public, especially from those who are working with the government sectors. Some of them agreed and some others don't. Well, of course, they have their own reasons to agree or disagree with it. As for me, there are pros and cons on this matter. The 1st half of the pay will be paid in the middle of the month and the 2nd half at the end of the month. The 1st half will be in full, in which the government servants will be getting 50% of their pay. It goes the same for the 2nd half, another 50%. But,all the deductions such as the housing loan, car loan, saving will be deducted from the 2nd payment, i.e the salary that they will receive at the end of the month.
Just look at this example, if a person receives a gross pay of RM 4000.00. It will be divided into 2, 50:50, Meaning, the person will be getting RM2000 in the middle of the month, and another RM2000 at the end of the month. But... all the deductions for loans, EPF, savings will be deducted from the 2nd pay. And let's say the total deduction is RM 1400, how much is left? Just RM600. We must remember, that some bills are due in the middle, some are in the beginning, and some are at the end of the month! At the moment, I am still trying to figure out, how to manage and deal with this situation before its implementation by the government!
I really hope that the government really knows what they are doing to all the government servants. I do hope that the decision will really help the people!
